The Wyoming High School All State Marching Band

Members of the band with Governor Mead. (Governor’s Office)

The very first Wyoming High School All State Marching Band performed in 1990, as part of the Wyoming State Centennial. And just ten years later, at the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California, the Wyoming High School All State Marching Band, numbering more than 500 members, became the largest marching band ever to perform there. That appearance, in 2000, prompted Pasadena engineers to check the structural integrity of a bridge along the parade route.

The Wyoming High School All State Marching Band has played their music, and stepped in unison all over the world. For so many years under the leadership of Worland’s Dave Bellis, these Wyoming teenagers have performed in parades in Scotland and Ireland, many Rose Parades, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parades, and even Presidential Inaugural Parades. The Band has marched in the Disneyland Electric Christmas Parade too.

The size of the Wyoming High School All State Marching Band has held steady over the years at right around 500 members, always a very talented group of Wyoming musical ambassadors.
